Zakaria Ibrahim, a cameraman working for Al Jazeera, died on Dec. 7, 2015 of injuries sustained when he was hit by sniper fire while covering fighting between Syrian insurgents and the forces of President Bashar al-Assad in the province of Homs. Ibrahim had been covering the conflict in Syria for several years. After he was hit by sniper fire, he was transferred to a nearby field hospital and fell into a coma before succumbing to his injuries several days later.
