Libyan television journalist Muftah Al-Qatrani, director of private production company Al-Anwar, was found dead on April 22, 2015 in his office in central Benghazi with a gunshot wound to his head. Al-Qatrani had been involved in covering fighting between Islamist militias and pro-government forces in Benghazi. Local officials labelled the death an assassination and witnesses said no weapon was found near Al-Qatrani’s body.
