Syria’s official SANA news agency reported that Wasim al-Nuqari, 38, was killed on Nov. 21, 2015 while covering the army’s operations against Islamic State militants in the eastern countryside of Homs province. The AP reported that al-Nuqari had worked at Syrian TV for many years and recently had been working as a war reporter for the armed forces. Syrian Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi in a statement described Nuqari as another “medal” for the Syrian media, “which is real partner of the army in facing the terrorists and misleading war against the country”.
