Mustaf Abdi Noor, aka Shafana, was killed on Nov. 1, 2015 while covering an attack on the Sahafi Hotel in Mogadishu by Al-Shabab Islamist militants. He died when the second of two car bombs that the militants set before storming the building exploded. Abdi Noor reportedly arrived on the scene after the first bomb detonated in order to cover the incident and was taking cover behind a vehicle holding the second car bomb when it detonated. A Reuters photographer, Feisal Omar, was also reportedly wounded in the attack.
