Unidentified gunmen in a white vehicle assassinated Mohammed Thabet al-Obeidi, head of a local radio station Baba Gurgur, while he was driving to his place of work in the city center of Kirkuk on Dec. 6, 2016. The motive for the killing remains unclear.
