Leobardo Vazques Atzin was gunned down in front of his house in northern Veracruz state Gutierrez Zamora on Wednesday 21 in March 2018. According to the police report, Vasquez Atzin’s wife found him dead outside their house after hearing gunshots. Vazques Atzin worked as a news reporter for local media. Veracruz is known for its drug cartel violence, and it is the most dangerous state for journalists in Mexico. Last year, four journalists were killed in the area.
