Abdul-Qadir al-Qaisi, a journalist and lawyer who previously represented former Iraqi Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi, went missing on Jan. 1, 2017 while traveling to Baghdad from Erbil. He was found dead four days later on a road between Kirkuk and Baghdad. The motive for the crime was not immediately known.
