Ethical dilemmas: Where do YOU stand?

Saturday, May 21 | 09:30 – 10:45

No two reporters have the same moral compass. News outlets disagree on standards and values. Ethical differences are often amplified in cross-border teams, where what’s acceptable to one reporter or editor may be anathema to another. In this practical session, we explore real-world ethical dilemmas and debate different approaches to common conundrums. Warning: may cause dizziness.

Pitch perfect: How to write a killer grant proposal

Sunday, May 22 | 11:15 – 12:30

Timothy Large, who runs the IJ4EU fund and has years of experience as a commissioning editor, reveals the secret ingredients to the perfect pitch – and what not to do when applying for grants. Get ready to put yourselves in the shoes of the editors and jurors who hold the keys to funding.
