According to the Facebook post by website’s coordinator Gayane Avakyan, the blocking was a sign they had succeed in providing truthful information about the war. Svoi.city reports about people in Eastern Ukraine on both sides of the front line and about Ukrainian migrants and refugees. The blocking was authorized on February 24 but did not come into effect until March 17.
