Tunisian police slapped and detained freelance photojournalist Islem Hkiri, accusing him of violating COVID-19 curfew measures, despite the fact that the journalist had an autorisation exemption. Hkiri had previously published photos of police using pepper spray against demonstrators in Tunisia amid a wider public debate about police tactics against demonstrators.
