The Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers in Russia received an correspondence from the State Prosecutor on May 13, which announced it will be under examination from May 16 until June 16. The implementation of laws related federal security, relationships between interethnic groups, terrorism and extremism will be examined. State Prosecutor also wants to see financial statements, other legal documents, information of events held by the Union and speeches of the participants.

UPDATE: On 3 August, Russian media reported that a court in Moscow fined the Trade Union of Journalists and Media Workers 500,000 rubles for allegedly “discrediting” the Russian army by “publishing ideas, linked to a negative attitude towards the special military operation carried out by the Russian Federation in Ukraine”.
