On 28 August 2024, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement containing a list of 92 American citizens which had recently been banned from entering Russia. The list included 24 journalists who were accused of “creating fake news about Russia and its armed forces, [as well as] creating a propaganda ‘cover’ for the hybrid war launched by Washington”. Half of the journalists banned from entering Russia are employees of the Wall Street Journal (WSJ). This includes the newspaper’s editor-in-chief Emma Tucker. The list also contains the names of journalists working for The New York Times (NYT), The Washington Post and The Guardian.

Stern (Washington Post), Emma Tucker (WSJ), Adam Taylor (Washington Post), Charles Forrelle (WSJ), Shane Harris (Washington Post), Rebecca Rose Hendin (The Guardian), Nathan Hodge (WSJ).
