The Russian foreign ministry banned 29 members of the British press from numerous publications from entering the territory of the Russian Federation over their reporting on the war in Ukraine. The list included journalists from the Guardian, the BBC and the Times, among others. The Russian authorities claimed that the decision was a response to Western sanctions, the distribution of ‘false information’ about the Russian government, and anti-Russian actions of the British government. “The British journalists included in the list are involved in the deliberate dissemination of false and one-sided information about Russia and events in Ukraine and Donbas,” the ministry said in a statement. Moscow vowed that the work on expanding the travel ban list would continue. Those banned were:
