On October 13, supporters of the opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC) assaulted journalist Akosua Otchere, of the privately owned media house Citi FM. Otchere was assaulted by some disgruntled individuals while she was covering the vetting process for the opposition parliamentary aspirant’s candidate in the Odododiodio constituency, at the party regional office in Accra. She was hospitalized as a result of the assault but was later discharged. The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) condemned the assault and demanded that the police hold the culprits to account.
