Malawian journalist assaulted by police while reporting on COVID-19

Malawian journalist Henry Mhango, a correspondent for The Telegraph (UK) and BBC Africa Eye, was assaulted by police officers as he sought to report on COVID-19 measures. Mhango had asked police officers to direct him to a senior officer who could give him permission to take photographs of police vehicles. Instead, a group of officers beat him with pipes and sticks. Mhango later received treatment for injuries at the hospital.
