As reported on 10 February 2026, a film crew from Latvia’s public broadcaster LSM came under a Russian FPV (first-person view) drone attack while working near the front line in Donetsk oblast. The team, journalist Odita Krenberga and cameraman Aigars Kovalevskis, was travelling to film a report on a Latvian national serving in the Ukrainian armed forces when the incident occurred.

According to reports, the drone detonated near the journalists’ vehicle at a point on the road where cars were forced to slow down, causing damage to the vehicle and shattering windows. No members of the media crew were injured.

The journalists were working alongside Ukrainian soldiers at the time of the attack, documenting frontline conditions. The incident was described as occurring in an active combat zone, where drone threats remain constant for both military personnel and journalists.
