Journalists in Kyrgyzstan are facing restrictions on their ability to work freely and report on COVID-19 due to government measures. Some state-run media have been exempted from emergency lockdown measures and allowed to work in the field. But independent media have been from traveling or conducting interviews from quarantined areas. Journalists have also faced challenges in accessing information and submitting questions to authorities. Media has been told to submit questions for government press conferences online or via social media.
