Journalist Anastasia Volkova caught in mortar fire in Rubizhne

Anastasia Volkova, a correspondent for TV channel Dom was caught under mortar fire in Rubizhne, Luhansk region. She was in the city to cover the evacuation of local residents when the area she was reporting from came under fire from Russian forces. “We had just arrived and five minutes later, they started to fire precisely at the square where we were”, she told to the Institute of Mass Information (IMI). Volkova crawled to safety and managed to escape the area when she noticed the soldiers had run out of ammunition. She was wearing visible PRESS signs and bulletproof equipment at the time. Volkova had been reporting on the war in Ukraine for months and had arrived in Rubizhne on April 28. In her report, she said the Russian troops had purposefully fired on the evacuation point.
