The editors of the Ukrainian news site Volyn24 received an email from the Russian state communications and media regulator, Roskomnadzor, demanding the removal of the information on their site about the war in Ukraine. The email, sent on July 11, indicated that if the editors refused to comply their website would be banned on the territory of the Russian Federation. The take-down order was reportedly related to a post made by Volyn24 on March 28 showcasing the liquidation of a Russian observation post by the Ukrainian armed forces. The editors refused the demands of Roskomnadzor and expressed their intent to continue covering the war in Ukraine in a factual manner.
