Access to Kavkazskiy Uzel (Caucasian Knot), an online news site that covers the Caucasus region in English and Russian, was blocked by Russia’s internet regulator on the order of the Prosecutor General’s office. In a statement on its website, the editorial team of Kavkaszkskyi Uzel said that they would continue to report. The statement said: “Dear readers! “Caucasian Knot” has been working for you since 2001. We have always tried to write the truth and honestly about the events in the regions of the South of Russia, the North and South Caucasus. But today the “Caucasian Knot” is blocked by the decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia.” The media outlet was previously blacklisted as a “foreign agent” by Russian authorities.
