Russian media outlet Avtozak LIVE announced the closure of all press offices within the country on June 17. Explaining the move, the news company cited the high risk of criminal charges. It comes after the Russian government passed tight new restrictions linked to reporting on the war in Ukraine. The coordinator of the project, Maksim Kondratyev, claimed that reporting on the war becomes more dangerous with each passing day. He added that that the majority of their journalists had already fled Russia as a result and those that remain are unable to report full-time.
