The Palestinian Center for Development and Media Freedoms (MADA) reported that journalist Khaled Hamad, 26, a cameraman with The Continue Agency for Television Production, was killed on July 20, 2014 when Israeli forces – as part of a military incursion into Gaza launched to end the firing of missiles into Israel by Hamas – shelled the Shejaia neighbourhood in Gaza City. Hamad was reportedly wearing a vest marked “Press” at the time of his death.
