Television reporter Khalid Al-Weshali was killed in an explosion in Dhamar on Jan. 4, 2015 while covering attempts to defuse a bomb. Al-Weshali worked for the Al-Masirah television channel, which is owned by the Ansar Allah, or Houthi, Shia insurgent group. Reports indicated that the bomb was planted by Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) targeting members of the Houthi group.
