Guido Armando Giovanni Villatoro Ramos, a news cameraman for the Servicable company, was gunned down on March 13, 2015 in Chicacao in the southern Guatemalan province of Suchitepequez. Police said that extortionists demanding money from Servicable killed Villatoro, 20, approximately two hours after security forces apprehended another member of their group as he collected a package that supposedly held 40,000 quetzals (approx. €4,900) the group had demanded from the cable company. Three men were later arrested in connection with the crime.
