Brazilian radio host Gleydson Carvalho died on Aug. 6, 2015, after two gunmen shot him five times at point-blank range while he presented a live show. Carvalho was known for reporting on government corruption at Radio Liberdade FM station in the northeastern city of Camocim, and he had often received threats, according to his friends and colleagues. The gunmen escaped on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice, and Carvalho was rushed to the hospital but died on the way. In the weeks following the killing, police said they had arrested two people with connections to the main suspect and recovered what they suspected was the murder weapon.
