IPI Turkey Advocacy Coordinator Caroline Stockford moderated a panel in Istanbul, Turkey, on impunity in journalist killings. The panellists included the children of several journalists murdered in Turkey as well as as the son of Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia.
About the event:
Daphne Caruana Galizia was murdered in Malta in October 2017 for her relentless investigative journalism. The main question remains: “Who killed Daphne?” Her son, Matthew Caruana Galizia, is searching for the answer.
On September 5, children and relatives of slain journalists joined him to share their own experiences and discuss what can be done to fight impunity in the murders of those who search for the truth.
