Journalist Manuel Salvador Trujillo Villagrán was riding a motorcycle on Jan. 19, 2017 when he was gunned down as he entered the municipality of San Jorge in the department of Zacapa. Colleagues said Trujillo had received threats from a group calling itself “Angels of Justice”, but the motive for the crime was not immediately known.
