Luis Pérez García, the director of the magazine Encuesta de Hoy, was found dead in the rubble of his burnt house in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, on July 10, 2018. It was first thought that Pérez García had died of asphyxiation or burns. In further investigations, police reportedly concluded that unidentified assailants killed Pérez García with a blow to the head before his house was set on fire.
