Marcos de Barros Leopoldo Guerra, a journalist and attorney who covered alleged corruption in Ubatuba, a small city on the coast in Sao Paolo state, in his “Ubatuba Cobra” blog was gunned down by two men at his home on Dec. 23, 2014. The men, who arrived on a motorcycle, reportedly did not steal anything from Guerra’s home and he had recently received threats. Police said they were investigating the possibility that the crime was retaliation for an article Guerra had posted online.
