Camille Lepage, Central African Republic

Camille Lepage, a French photojournalist based in South Sudan who was on assignment in the Central African Republic, was killed in an attack in the western region of Bouar. The Élysée Palace, which confirmed the death, said President François Hollande had ordered a French team to the embattled nation to investigate what it called an “assassination”. The presidential palace reported that the body of Lepage, 26, was found on May 13 in a vehicle driven by militiamen. The body was recovered by members of a French intervention force operating in the country.
