On 1 June 2022, Ukrainian Military Television journalist Danylo Ishchenko was wounded in Kharkiv region while reporting from a Russian attack attempt in the area. In a statement published on Facebook, the TV channel said doctors decided to amputate Ishchenko’s wounded limb. A representative of the channel told IMI, a Kyiv-based NGO, that Ishchenko was filming when Russian forces opened mortar fire on the area. He reportedly nearly managed to reach a shelter, but was hit by shatter from the explosion.
