On 7 November 2025, a reporting crew with Suspilne Donbas – the regional edition of Ukraine’s public broadcaster Suspilne for the Donbas region – came under Russian fire while filming a report from the town of Druzhkivka. The town is located approximately 15-20 kilometres from the front line in Ukraine’s Donetsk region.
The crew included Suspilne Donbas editor-in-chief Andriy Kramchenkov, as well as two female journalists and a camera operator. The crew had begun a live broadcast when they heard a Russian drone approaching the area, Kramchenkov later reported. The group took refuge in the stairwell of a nearby residential building until the threat subsided.
The team was identified as media by a vehicle with “PRESS” markings on its windshield, while the journalists were equipped with protective vests and helmets. Kramchenkov reported that the crew stayed in hiding until the drone threat subsided, following which they evacuated the area.
