Russian troops seized the Azov Wave radio station in Berdyansk as part of their occupation. In a statement, the Berdyansk City Council said on Facebook: “Attention, Berdyansk, at the moment the Azov Wave radio station has been seized by the Russian military. In the case of dissemination of propaganda, anti-Ukrainian information, know – this is misinformation”. Acting Mayor Oleksandr Svidlo told Berdyansk residents: “We warn all citizens that the occupiers may be spreading propaganda and anti-Ukrainian information. You know, this is misinformation and manipulation”. No injuries were reported.

UPDATE: On 16 June, Ukraine’s National TV and Radio Council said Russian occupying forces were using Azov Wave’s studios to broadcast pro-Russian content. They reportedly named the new radio station “Svobodnyy Berdyansk” (“Free Berdyansk”).
