The so-called Commission for Investigating Anti-Russian Activities, organised by the pro-Putin Spravedlivaya Rosia – Za Pravdu party (SRZP), published a list of supposed agents of foreign influence in the cultural sphere. The list, although only containing five names, included the general director of the pro-government media outlet Perviy Kanal, Konstantin Ernst. He was accused of being an “accomplice” of Ivan Urgant, a TV host on Perviy Kanal who criticized Russia’s war in Ukraine shortly after the start of the full-scale invasion. The leader of SRZP Sergey Mironov stated that he intended to remove the norms of non-interference from government agencies in the law on culture.
