Russian journalist Lyubov Petrova fined for sharing anti-war manifestos

On 6 September 2022, a court in Moscow fined journalist Lyubov Petrova 100,000 rubles for allegedly publishing “fake news” on the war in Ukraine. Petrova, who is the Editor-in-Chief of Zhurnalist, an online magazine, was fined for sharing an anti-war manifestos published by various independent media on 24 February. She claimed that the opinions expressed were not those of Zhurnalist, and that anti-war declarations had not yet been outlawed at the time in Russia.
