On 25 May 2022, Russian forces shelled a TV tower in Orikhiv, in Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region. The tower complex was damaged in the attack. It was unclear whether TV and radio signal were cut off in the region as a result.
In October, Ukrainian public broadcaster Suspilne asked the European Court of Human Rights to investigate nine attacks on TV towers by Russian forces in Ukraine, as well as two cases of jamming radio and TV signal, and one hacker attack on Ukraine’s public television archives.
