As reported on 22 March 2023, Nashe Radio, as well as other unnamed radio stations in Russian-occupied Crimea, were allegedly hacked and broadcast a false announcement, informing listeners on precautions to take in case an air raid alert was declared in the region. A recording of the annoncement was published in an anonymous Telegram channel reporting on news from Crimea, wrote Kyiv-based media rights group IMI. The announcement instructed listeners, among others, that in case of an air raid they would need to find an air raid shelter, pack their essential personal belongings, and that if needed ferries would evacuate civilans from Crimea to Russia. Russia-appointed officials, namely the governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhayev, as well as Oleg Kriuchkov, a counsellor of the governor of Crimea, both published official statements saying the information in the announcements was “untrue” and that the source of the hack was being tracked by officials.
