Nine radio stations in Ukraine operating under the TAVR Media group were subject to a cyberattack from unknown sources and then used to spread disinformation. As a result of the attack, the stations temporarily broadcasted false information stating that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was hospitalized and in intensive care. The attacked stations also broadcasted information claiming that the president’s duties were being performed by Ruslan Stefanchuk, the acting chairman of the Ukrainian Rada. TAVR Media released a message during the attack on social media stating that the information being broadcast was false and that it was working to address the issue. Zelensky himself later released a message refuting the false information and blaming the accident on Russian forces. The affected radio stations were: Hit FM, Kiss FM, Radio ROKS, Radio Relax, Melodia FM, Nashe Radio, Classic Radio, Radio Jazz, Radio Bayraktar. Russian hackers did not claim responsibility for the hack.
