Freelance journalist Polina Efimova was detained by police in the city of Taganrog in Rostov area. Efimova and other journalists had tried to speak with refugees from the Ukrainian city of Mariupol at a temporary accommodation centre. Police asked her for a press card which she – as a freelancer – didn’t have and escorted her to a police car. No justification was given for her detention. She was later released, but criticised the obstruction of her journalistic work.
