The founder and chief editor of the publication Agentura.ru, Andrei Soldatov, was added to the wanted list of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and all of his bank accounts were frozen. Soldatov said he did not know what he is being charged with. Several human rights advocates stated that they suspect he would be charged with distributing false information about the Russian armed forces (Article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation). Soldatov no longer resides in Russia.
UPDATE: 06 June 2022 – Soldatov was later investigated for distributing false information, as reported by Agentura.ru. The charges are connected to an interview he gave to a YouTube channel run by Navalny’s political team, titled “Populyarnaya Politika,” discussing an FSB general being arrested due to the war in Ukraine.
