Russian internet and communications regulator Roskomnadzor blocked five media websites and news portals over their alleged violation of new restrictions linked to the war in Ukraine. The blocked websites were Vot tak, suhumi.info, Interfax-Ukraina, Latvian portal Otkrito, news publication Realist.online and Lvivskiyi portal. Roskomnadzor noted that Vot tak’s all domains and subdomains were also blocked. In April, the Russian regulator also blocked access to Lyudi Baykala (“The People of the Baykal”), an independent regional media from Siberia, after it had started covering the effects of the war in Ukraine in the region.
