Donbas Frontliner journalists come under fire from Russian shells

Journalists Andriy Dubchak and Danylo Dubchak from the news outlet Donbas Frontliner were caught in shelling from clusters munitions while working near the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region. Dubchak said that approximately five munitions exploded above their positions. “Approximately five cassette media burst right above us. We were in the field, near the cemetery, and it covered a very large area. It’s good that we survived,” he said. Both of the journalists survived the incident. However, Dubchak suffered a cut to his leg as a result of shrapnel. The journalists’ car was destroyed during the shelling. Donbas Frontliner is a small, independent media outlet which covers the ongoing conflict in the Donbas region. After the attack the journalists continued their work, releasing a report on the conditions in the city of Bakhmut, which has been subjected to heavy Russian shelling in recent months. Dubchak said that they had also come under fire a day before and thinks that both times it was due to the fact that their armoured vehicle was visible to the Russian forces.
