On 23 June 2023, a court in Krasnodar (Southern Russia) fined journalist and activist Alipat Sultanbegova 30 thousand rubles for reposting a drawing opposing Russia’s war in Ukraine by Masha Moskaleva, a 13-year-old child from Tula region who was forcefully taken from her father by authorities following the publication of the drawing. According to the court in Krasnodar, Sultanbegova “discredited” the Russian army by reposting the picture.
The activist and journalist had left Russia after a second, criminal case for “discrediting” the Russian army was opened against her in May, Russian media reported.
