Ko Soe Moe Tun, a journalist for Eleven Media Group (EMG), was found dead on the side of a highway in Monywa in Sagaing division on Dec. 13, 2016. An autopsy revealed he died from a skull fracture resulting from being beaten. His personal belongings had not been stolen. The motive for the killing remains unclear.
