Journalist Ricardo Monlui Cabrera, the editor of a local financial information newspaper, was shot dead by unknown assailants on March 19, 2017 in municipality of Yanga in the eastern state of Veracruz as he left a restaurant with his wife and son. The motive for the crime was not immediately known.
