Papy Mumbere Mahamba, Democratic Republic of Congo

Papy Mumbere Mahamba, a journalist for Radio Lwemba, was killed on November 3 by some armed assailants, who also set fire to his house in Lwemba town. According to media reports Mahamba was raising awareness about Ebola and had just finished a radio programme on the subject. The country is facing its worst ebola outbreak and people working to prevent the spread of the virus have often been targeted.
