Osama Nasr al-Zoab, the regional director of the rebel-affiliated Syrian Media Organization, died on Aug. 21, 2017 while traveling to report on the aftereffects of a government bombing campaign in the Daraa region when an improvised explosive device exploded. The Syrian Media Organization, which reportedly is affiliated with the Southern Front rebel group, said that al-Zoab’s brother and a nephew were also killed.
