Joey Llana was gunned down in Daraga town in Albay province while on his way to work on July 20, 2018. Llana suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his head and body. Llana’s killers escaped from the crime scene. The motive of the killing is under investigation but Llana had reportedly received death threats due to comments made on his radio programs. Llana worked as a broadcaster at a local radio station.
