On 4 April 2025, online media project Ukrainian Witness reported that its correspondents had come under Russian fire at an unspecified location in Kharkiv region, approximately 30 kilometers from the front line, according to a post of the project on Facebook and a video uploaded on Youtube. The names of the correspondents were not made public. It was also not clear whether there were more than two media workers present at the scene at the time of the attack.
According to Ukrainian Witness, its film crew was traveling in a car with Ukrainian soldiers when the vehicle was hit by a Russian FPV-type drone. While one of the soldiers was wounded, the journalists were not. The group was later able to evacuate to a safe location where the soldier received medical treatment. His life was not at risk.
