Reuters news agency photographer Aleksandr Ermachenko and camera operator Pavel Klimov were injured after the vehicle they were traveling in came under fire near the eastern Ukrainian city of Sievierodonetsk. The two correspondents had been travelling in a car provided by Russia-backed forces when they came under fire. The pair had been sitting in the back of the car, which was reportedly hit by artillery attack while they were driving on the Russian held part of the road between Sievierodonetsk and the town of Rubizhne. Reports said the vehicle flipped upside down and caught on fire. The driver of the car, who was also appointed by the separatists, was killed. They were not named. Ermochenko and Klimov were taken to a hospital in Rubizhne. Ermochenko was treated for a small shrapnel wound and Klimov for an arm fracture. They were on a reporting trip at the time, according to Reuters. “Reuters extends its deepest sympathies to the family of the driver for their loss”, the agency said in a statement. Russian state media reported that two correspondents from RT witnessed the incident.
